Ice™ Kugels

Ice™ Kugels are a unique kugel that was designed in 2003/2004 by us that takes the traditional glass ball making process and adds a twist. Normally a ball is formed first by using normal clear glass to create the base. Once a base is partially blown it is rolled in colored granules to add a unique design. Ice™ Kugels use this same process but after this step is when things change. Instead of further blowing the ball out into a mold. The Ice Kugel is placed immediately in the annealing furnace and is finished as is. Ice™ Kugels have this unique texture and color patterns because of this process. The frit by and large remains in its original state and can be sharp. Caution is recommended when handling these objects.
